Flame worked borosilicate sterling silver and 24K fumed marble. This handmade, one of a kind marble has been fumed with Sterling Silver on the inside and the back side has been fumed with Sterling Silver and a touch of 24k gold as well. The pattern on the inside was achieved in part by encasing a Gilson Opal in clear glass, and then applying a thin layer of silver to the clear glass, adding more clear glass, then more silver, more clear, and so on until the desired amount of layering had been built up. A layer of black glass was then added, to act as both a background to the interior coloring/pattern, as well as to be a surface onto which the color and design of the back side of the marble could be applied. It is 1.53" in diameter (39mm) and signed "J.Cavagnaro '21". This marble will arrive safely packed from my Dagsboro, DE studio.
